EPDM rubber is a type of synthetic rubber that is used in many applications, ranging from the production of gaskets, washers, and seals in chemical applications, and even for producing vessels for storing potable water (for rubber materials that meet Australian Standards AS/NZS 4020 (2005)). EPDM (or ‘ethylene propylene diene monomer’) rubbers are renowned for their versatility and durability.
Here at Vector & Raster Laser Services, our industrial-grade EPDM rubber is a black rubber with a durometer hardness rating of 65 Shore A. That’s equivalent to the rubber hardness that you can expect from standard car tyres! This makes our EPDM rubber materials perfect for laser cutting and laser engraving applications.
Our EPDM rubber materials also possess exceptional resistance to higher temperatures, including hot water and steam. The EPDM rubber materials that we stock are cleared to handle temperatures spanning from -20 degrees Celsius through to +120 degrees Celsius.
Alongside being able to withstand extreme temperatures, our EPDM rubber materials also boast improved UV resistance, ozone and general weathering, and can handle extreme weather conditions. This makes our EPDM laser cutting and it’s rubber materials great for the production of gaskets, washers, and seals in chemical, mechanical, and industrial applications.
We’re also proud to offer EPDM rubber materials available in a potable water range. These EPDM rubber materials are certified by the Australian Water Quality Centre and are manufactured to standards that meet the requirements of AS/NZS 4020 (2005). Both our potable water range and standard EPDM rubber materials are ideal for laser cutting or laser engraving.
Our EPDM rubber materials are available in sheet sizes of 1240 x 705 mm, and in two different thicknesses, these being 1.5mm and 3mm. If you’re interested in securing our EPDM laser cutting or engraving services, then enquire with our Vector & Raster Laser team today.
