As you may already be aware, Elle Magazine is one of the most prominent fashion magazines in the world. Because of this, they need to have a strong grasp on their aesthetic sensibilities, meaning that poor-quality detailing is out of the question. That’s why Elle Magazine decided to come to us. As one of Australia’s leading laser cutting services, we at Vector & Raster were certainly up to the challenge of providing flawless, intricate laser cut paper designs for their advertisements.
As a major voice in the world of fashion and beauty, the Elle Magazine team came in with a very specific vision of what they were hoping to achieve, which included a selection of laser cut paper designs for their December Christmas Gift Guide. They required several different patterns and designs, all of which were needed to decorate the surface of some textured paper stock.
Naturally, we were honoured to work with such a highly-regarded publication, so once we had the information we needed, we got to work straight away.
Each design required up to 6000 perforations, which coupled with the white stock, can often pose challenges for lower quality laser cutting machinery. Luckily, thanks to our state-of-the-art laser cutting setup, we were more than capable of providing a clean, highly-detailed finished product with no singeing or blemishes.
To achieve this pristine finish, we used our smaller, German-made laser cutter. This machine specialises in more intricate details on smaller scales, and allowed us the highest level of control when creating these beautiful-yet-delicate pieces.
The finished product provided Elle Magazine with some absolutely stunning drop shadows and visual effects, which they used to incredible effect with their Christmas gift guide photography.
