Could not recommend Tom and his work more. He engraved my dad’s acoustic guitar after being the only place that would accept the job. He took such good care of the guitar and treated it and the job with such respect and reverence. Loved the work he did on the case as well after I added it as a last minute, half-baked request! More than worth it and incredibly grateful.Posted on Google![]()

Tom and the guys were very prompt and easy to deal with. I came to them with a logo that was not in the right format, nor size and they were able to redesign and reformat it to produce a stencil quickly and easily. The pricing is very fair for the speed and quality of service and product.Posted on Google![]()

Responsive, prompt, and did a great job. My project wasn't exactly a complex or high value one, just few cuts out of one small sheet of acrylic, in a design that I had already prepared, but unlike the other 4 laser cutting crowds that I sent enquiries to who never even bothered responding to me, Tom was quick to get me what I needed. If I ever need a small one-off cutting job again, he'll be my first port of call.Posted on Google![]()

I used Vector and Raster Laser Services to have some acrylic pieces cut for a custom keyboard case, which involved multiple pieces to construct a full hand case that acted as a hand rest, which was for my split keyboard. Suffice to say, extremely happy with their competitive prices and top notch quality. The cut was almost perfect with none of the visible surfaces having any problems, only 3 of the standoff holes on the smallest piece being a little ovalish, which wasn't a problem once the case was put together. It was a very, very thin and small piece so I do not blame them, and as mentioned it wasn't a problem anyway. I am planning on ordering more custom pieces from them over the coming months!Posted on Google![]()

As an Art Therapist, one on the hardest mental barriers clients face is the blank canvas. However thanks to Vector and Raster this has been made possible through their laser stencil workmanship. Their stencils have accommodate all different types of designs, some more intricate than others and they have always maintain the authenticity of my artwork. The stencils are durable, easy to use and easy to clean. I am very proud to have Vector and Raster as partners in helping others enjoy creating artwork and help individuals self express.
What is laser engraving?
Laser engraving removes the surface of your chosen material to form markings. Laser engraving can create a rustic burn or a crisp modern etch of your design on various surfaces. This method is often used for leather, paper, electrical labels, signs, engraved name badges, invitations, fashion leather, accessories, and so on. Often laser engraving is paired with laser cutting to create a bespoke design.
Laser engraving is very versatile because you can engrave on different materials including wood, metal, acrylic, plastic, glass, leather, paper, etc. Speak to one of our professionals today to discuss your options.
What is the difference between engraving and laser engraving?
As the name suggests, laser engraving uses a laser to mark the material. On the opposite end, hand engraving uses handheld tools and mechanical engraving uses a rotary bit to etch a design on the surface. Laser engraving has many advantages compared to traditional engraving because the outline is extremely precise. As such, there is less room for human error to ruin your desired design. The faster completion speed also means engraving is often more affordable compared to traditional engraving methods as well. Contact us today for a laser engraving Melbourne free quote.
How does laser engraving work?
Laser engraving removes the layers of the surface material to form deep indents in the material. It evaporates the top of the material with high heat, turning the medium into fumes to create permanent markings. The colour of the material will then change as it burns, creating a spectacular contrast between your engraved design and the material backing.
Is laser engraving permanent?
Laser engraving is absolutely permanent and will serve you well as a life-long gift or personal keepsake. As the laser burns off the top layer completely, the marks will always remain. However, the type of material, use of the item, and depth of the engraving are all factors that may cause the engraving to fade slightly.
Does laser engraving fade?
Laser engraving may be subject to fading, although it will never disappear and will provide a long lasting mark. This can be the case on softer materials, or products that are subject to high amounts of wear and tear of the material itself. While the engraving may stay, dents and tarnishes can scratch the engraved design. For items that are exposed to constant friction, these tarnishes can cause the engraving to fade. Exposure to certain elements can also take its toll over a long period of time.
What materials can you laser engrave?
We can laser engrave various types of material. This includes:
Can you laser engrave glass?
Yes, we can laser etch some glass items. In fact, we can also engrave mirrors with beautiful quotes and designs. Get in touch today for a quote on your new bespoke glass engraving.
Can I have a quote over the phone?
Sorry but we cannot provide a quote over the phone, laser cutting and engraving prices can vary dramatically based on the design and material being processed, we require artwork to provide an accurate quote.
Can you create the correct artwork for me?
Yes, if you are unable to provide the required artwork for processing your order we can create the files for you no matter what process you intend on using whether it be laser cutting or engraving.
What type of files do you require?
We require a vector file which has been created in a graphics program, acceptable types include eps, cdr, ai, dxf, dwg and pdf. Cut lines should consist of a red outline with no fill using a .001mm stroke width, areas to be engraved should be in black fill. Only photographs will be accepted as a high resolution jpeg or bitmap.
Can I supply my own materials?
Yes, if you prefer to supply your own materials we are happy to process them for you providing that they are suited to the laser process, a test sample is recommended for perfect results when processing your order.
