Medium-density Fibreboard or MDF is a type of wood that’s manufactured from wood fibres that are obtained from breaking down hardwood and softwood, before combining them with wax and a resin binder and compressed into panels through the application of high temperature and pressure. Since it is made in this way, MDF is generally denser than plywood and is used in similar applications, but is usually a cheaper alternative.
